Digital Delivery
The Digital Delivery business unit runs UCAS’ day-to-day frontline services, digital products and technical infrastructure for all customers, including applicants and providers. The unit is also responsible for developing and improving customer-centric products in close collaboration with UCAS’ product function.
Services to customers include the Customer Experience Centre, providing comprehensive high quality services to support applicants in their journey into university and other higher education provision. Digital Delivery is responsible for running UCAS’ Confirmation and Clearing service, and logistics related to key deadlines in the cycle.
Working in cross-company multi-disciplinary teams comprising customer insight, product managers, architects, developers, testers, and data scientists, the Digital Delivery business unit ensures that UCAS is a customer-centric, product-focused digital business, connecting students with their next opportunity.
To work with the CRM team and users across the business to maintain, develop and improve the UCAS Salesforce environment. This will involve declarative configuration of the platform, demoing new features to users, supporting users, supporting go-live of new features and working with UCAS’s core IT partner in their ongoing operation.
- Delivery of Salesforce software solutions primarily using Salesforce declarative configuration.
- Carry out support tasks and Incidents using Service Now software.
- Report to the Technical Team Lead in an agile/scrum development environment to ensure a continual delivery stream of features.
- Provide technical input and innovation, while collaborating with the rest of the scrum team on the development of solutions.
- Configure solutions in line with our admin standards and industry best practice.
- Deploy features using standard tooling such as Changesets, SFDX, git, etc.
- Develop and prototype investigations or spikes to assist in the delivery of features.
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality products through techniques such as test-driven development, pair programming, and code review.
- Act as a gatekeeper for code repositories, ensuring only high-quality code, developed in line with our standards, is accepted into the production estate.
- Contribute to the ongoing improvement of the scrum team through agile retrospective ceremonies.
- Significantly experienced Salesforce administrator.
- Experience of Marketing Cloud would be beneficial

Salesforce App builder Super Set or Admin Super Set - Essential
- Experience of working with end users to understand requirements and express them in Salesforce configuration.
- Solid understanding with custom objects, page layouts, profiles, permissions, workflows, approval processes, flows and flow triggers.
- Excellent knowledge of Salesforce.com technical architecture.
- Experience of developer deployment tools (SFDX, git, bamboo, etc.) would be highly beneficial, although training will be provided.
- Experience of agile delivery methodology would be useful but not essential.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong collaboration skills to facilitate the development of high-quality products in line with the product owner’s requirements.
- A keen desire to learn to code and study for Platform Developer 1.
- An understanding of UCAS and the university applications cycle.
